    Server is up to date.

I've also deployed a few custom maps to the server as well and any admin can swap to those maps.

Biggest benefit right now is that the maps will download over the TDBGaming CDN. What does this mean? Well, on first request of a file it is pushed to Amazon's global cloud network of servers, meaning when you join the server and download the map, you're downloading it from a server that is closest to you at the best possible speeds (rather than from Chicago where the Game Server and Website is hosted).

We use the same CDN to deliver images/css/jpgs on the website faster.

This didn't work in DODS but it works with CS:GO and INS2.

    Cheers,

Nice work Snake ,thank you for this .
I hope we can get it full.

Me too. There aren't too many servers online, so as long as we pick and choose the right maps and keep it populated, we should get quite a bit of interest.

The server should be able to run another server or two as well, but we'll start with one and see how it goes :)
  5. In Topic: GameSpy bites the Dust...its a sad day

    28 February 2013 - 09:30 PM

I remember back in the day checking GameSpy daily for latest news, was the go to place for reviews, game info, downloads, etc.

My how the might have fallen.

I also remember when 1Up started. I used to interact regularly with the guy who started the site before it got bought out.

And UGO is gone too. In one day, an entire era of gaming was destroyed. Good job Ziff Davis.
